This is NGC 1333, also known as the Embryo Nebula. I am not quite sure how it got this name since, to me, it doesn't look like an embryo even in the better images out there. According to Wikipedia, it is a reflection nebula in the northern constellation Perseus. Estimated to be about 1000 LYs away, it is in the western part of a larger molecular cloud and it is a young region of active star formation.

This was a somewhat random selection. I was looking for something that I had not imaged before and one that was viewable from the current telescope location in my backyard. I picked from an impressive catalog put together by an imager (shout out to Gary Imm) on Cloudy Nights forum. This is my first image after another long break due to weather. I struggled with some issues with my scope. Specifically a process called calibration was not completely working. The flat fielding errors don't show as much in this image because it is cropped, but it is a problem I will need to work on. This hobby can be maddenly frustrating at times!
